ULI is committed to sustaining thriving communities through education of both today’s and tomorrow’s leaders.
ULI has several committees focused the advancement of education of individuals from school-aged, to college and professionals. ULI needs mentors and presenters for these programs.

#BTN, or Building Tomorrow’s Neighborhoods
Building Tomorrow’s Neighborhoods – Building Tomorrow’s Neighborhoods is school-aged program to teach students about the development process and the various careers in the field.

2017 Hines Student Competition Winners
Hines Student Competition – Challenges college students to collaborate across disciplines to imagine a better-built environment. ULI members mentor and coach local university teams. January – February.

UrbanPlan Exchange for Public Leaders – The UrbanPlan Exchange for Public Leaders provides a unique and engaging opportunity to learn about the fundamental forces that shape and affect the built environment. Participants experience the challenging issues, public and private sector roles, complex trade-offs, and fundamental economics in play when proposing realistic land use solutions to vexing growth challenges.
Member volunteers lead hands-on workshops where participants work on a day-long simulation of a planning process involving teams that work together using LEGOS, a site plan and a spreadsheet to respond to a hypothetical RFP for a fictional urban neighborhood.
