    The pandemic and work from home had a dramatic effect on the office market. The development community has been adapting with innovations to enhance user’s experience. Simultaneously news of sublease spaces hitting the market creates headlines. What IS the current state of Austin’s office market and how does it compare to other major cities? Our panelist will have a comprehensive discussion on trends and what they believe the future entails for Austin.

    Speakers

    Sandra Parét

    CEO, STG Design

    Prior to joining STG Design, Sandra Parét was Senior Vice President at AECOM, Global Commercial and Corporate Market Sector practice director. While there she led the management and operations of the practice, working closely with regional leadership to align AECOM talent with client requirements. Sandra was also responsible for business line operations for this market sector, strategic planning, budgeting, intercompany collaboration, and account delivery/resourcing strategies including the attraction and retention of diverse talent. During her 18-year tenure at HOK, Sandra held several positions, including Managing Principal of the Dallas office and Global Strategic Accounts lead for Corporate clients connecting the dots between geography and talent for the benefit of the projects in the client’s real estate portfolios. She holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University as well as executive education certificates from the Harvard Design School Office of Executive Education and Columbia Business School Executive Education. She was honored as one of the Texas A&M Outstanding Alumni, College of Architecture. She currently serves as Presiding Officer, Texas Military Department, Real Property Advisory Council. A member of AIA, Parét is licensed in 38 states, and she is a Registered Interior Designer.

    Seth Johnston

    Vice President, Lincoln Property Company

    Seth has been with Lincoln Property Company in Austin since 2013. As Senior Vice President, Seth is responsible for assuming a market leadership role in sourcing and executing office and retail development opportunities in Austin and surrounding markets. In addition to development, Seth is also responsible for the leasing and marketing efforts for Lincoln’s Austin office portfolio, which involves lease negotiations and asset valuations for both LPC and third-party clients. Some of the clients Seth has served during his time with Lincoln have been Goldman Sachs, Intercontinental Real Estate Corporation, Greenfield Partners, Lionstone Group, and the Teachers Retirement System of Illinois. Before joining Lincoln, Seth worked for four years as a broker and leasing agent for McAllister and Associates in Austin. Prior to that, Seth played professional baseball in the San Diego Padres organization from 2005-2009. Seth attended the University of Texas and received a BA in Corporate Communications in 2005. While at Texas, Seth was a two-time NCAA national champion for the men’s baseball team, where he earned 1st team All-America honors and was voted Team Captain by his teammates in 2005. In addition to his responsibilities with Lincoln, Seth currently serves on the board for Opportunity Austin 4.0, in conjunction with the Austin Chamber of Commerce. He is also currently serving on the board of The First Tee of Greater Austin. He has served on the board for CASA of Travis County and is a founding member of Community for CASA. Seth is currently a member of the Real Estate Council of Austin, Urban Land Institute, CBA of Austin, ICSC, and the T Association for the University of Texas. Seth is also a proud husband to Emily and father to his three sons, Wyatt, Beau and Jack.

    Jenell Moffett

    Chief Impact Officer, Downtown Austin Alliance

    Jenell Moffett is the Chief Impact Officer for the Downtown Austin Alliance. She implements tactical solutions, driving and supporting the design, development, and progression of strategic initiatives for downtown Austin; by way of communication, research, storytelling, benchmarking effective practices, and leadership. Ultimately to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and prosperity for all - in downtown, Austin. Jenell drives impact through the organization’s mission, vision, and values by aligning business decision-making to purpose and considering the impact of practices across operations. She shapes upfront, strategic thinking of new initiatives, including framing and analyzing complex problems, assessing the current state, designing target state solutions, developing actionable recommendations, analyzing information, and leading change. Jenell serves as a thought leader and spokesperson for downtown’s economic, demographic, and social contexts and is responsible for measuring and monitoring the organization’s inclusion efforts. She does this by developing innovative programs and practices that effectively increase diversity and inclusion, and provides consultation to various team members, programs, and projects both internally and externally, with the intent to contribute positively to the advancement of equitable outcomes for the underserved and underrepresented. Prior to her work with the Downtown Alliance, Jenell worked for the City of Austin for over 10 years. During her time there, she worked as an Engineering Associate with Austin Water Utility and a Senior Business Systems Analyst with the Office of Sustainability. Jenell has her bachelor’s degree in urban studies from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s in business administration from Concordia University Texas-Austin.
