Department of Population Health and Vice Dean for Health Ecosystem at Dell
Medical School, UT Austin. She received her Ph.D. in neuroscience from
the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
Mini is the founder of Factor Health, an incubator for programs that address the non-medical drivers of health. Factor Health identifies opportunities to improve clinically-relevant measures of health, tests programs through community-based trials, and works actively with health system partners including payers to convert potential into sustained programming for improved health. Solutions address conditions such as diabetes, kidney health, maternal health, depression, and loneliness, incorporating innovations in the workforce, nutritional and behavioral science, and payment & health systems design.
Prior to Dell Med, Mini was the Executive Director and member of the board of the nation’s largest translational science institute based at UCSF. Mini has also led the development of award-winning collaborative and networking technologies in industry and academic medicine. She advises organizations that promise to improve health through system transformation, locally and nationally. Accompanying her role in the founding of the medical school in Austin, she has also supported the development of numerous Austin ecosystem organizations, including as founding leadership for the region’s first healthcare council.
