ULI Hines 2023 Student Competition: Mentors Needed

Volunteers needed from January 9 – 23, 2023.

As a ULI Hines Competition volunteer mentor, you will be paired with a University student team and other mentors in various industry sectors. The time commitment is flexible and determined by each individual team. This is an excellent way to give back to academia, in addition to networking and recruitment benefits.

​​​​​​​A team from The University of Texas at Austin , mentored by ULI Austin members, won the 2022 Hines Student Urban Design Competition with their winning plan The Stack!

Members of the winning team were awarded a prize of $50,000 at the conclusion of the competition on April 7, with $5,000 of the total going to the University of Texas at Austin.

Overview

The ULI Hines Student Competition, now entering its 21st year in 2023, offers graduate students across the country the opportunity to form their own multidisciplinary teams and engage in a challenging exercise in responsible land use. Teams of five students pursuing degrees in at least three different disciplines have two weeks to devise a development program for a real, large-scale site in a North American city. Teams provide graphic boards and narratives of their proposals including designs and market-feasible financial data.  LEARN MORE
