ULI Austin Nominating Process for Rally Austin (Formerly AEDC) Seat

ULI Austin is a nominating entity for Rally Austin (formerly AEDC) board.  To fill this seat, ULI Austin has created the following nomination process. Members interested in fulfilling this position should contact Paulette Gibbins and provide a bio, headshot, and narrative of their interest and how they fulfill the criteria.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Nominee will serve on the Rally Austin in the ULI Austin seat for three years.  Along with monthly meetings, ULI Austin expects the nominee to show leadership on the Rally Austin by actively serving on subcommittees and/or taking on an executive board position.  The nominee is also expected to stay abreast of current ULI initiatives and structure and update ULI Austin leadership on Rally Austin activities.  ULI Austin’s estimate of the time commitment is 8+ hours a month.

Interested members should contact Paulette Gibbins with a bio, headshot, and narrative of their interest and how they fulfill the criteria.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Chair, Past Chair, Chair of Mission Advancement, and Executive Director.

 

ULI AUSTIN NOMINEE CRITERIA

Nominees must:

  • Be an active member in ULI Austin and represent ULI Austin well
  • Live in Austin MSA
  • Have the bandwidth to provide leadership within the Rally Austin and report back to ULI Austin leadership (periodic management committee meetings or part of Advisory Board)
  • Have a professional background in real estate
  • Be familiar with and have proven success working with the City of Austin
  • Work well with others to move closer to a resolution rather than a stalemate
  • Have proven skills raising philanthropic funds
  • Have a limited number of conflicts of interest that would require recusal from Rally Austin board business
  • Have some knowledge of the following, but more importantly understand how to use ULI as a resource for information on:
    • Development
    • Affordability
    • Preservation of Austin’s Creative Culture (arts and music)
    • Diversity/Equitable Communities
    • Alternative funding mechanisms
    • Best practices in land use
    • Placemaking
    • Activated Parks
