Young Leaders Mentorship Forum
The Mentorship Forum is a professional development program for Young Leader members who are under the age of 35. Runs September through May.
- Exploration of ULI’s mission in a confidential, trusting environment of idea exchange;
- A broader understanding of all facets of the real estate environment;
- Connectivity with ULI peers and a senior-level Mentor;
- Personal and professional development.
ULI NEXT
Austin’s ULI NEXT initiative identifies, connects, and elevates the next generation of leaders for the built environment and ULI. ULI NEXT members are Full or Associate members, generally within the ages of 35-45, who have exemplified leadership at work and within ULI.
Local Member Councils
ULI Austin Local Member Councils based on ULI National Product Councils. Local Member Councils are small groups of ULI members focused on exploring and discussing Central Texas land use trends and challenges within their area of concentration.
Impact Awards
Three finalists will be selected in each category and their submissions will be on display at the Awards Event. The winner in each category will be announced at the Awards Event and presented with a distinctive award commemorating the event.

Members of the Year: Members are recognized in three categories
- ULI Member of the Year Recognizes a ULI member who has made positive contributions to ULI this year.
- ULI Influence Award Recognizes a ULI member who has positively influenced ULI Austin over many years, contributing to the district council’s growth and mission advancement.
- Top Contributing ULI Young Leader Recognizes an outstanding ULI Young Leader member who creates positive contributions to ULI Young Leaders, their profession and the community. These younger professionals set the bar for career advancement, goal-setting, community service and a strong commitment to ULI’s mission.
Competitive Projects: Awards are given to projects in five categories
- Most Influential Project Recognizes a project that creates a positive impact beyond its immediate borders and energizes the development of the surrounding community.
- Best Project Innovation Highlights originality and creativity in development and can include aspects of design, place-making, supporting public transit, sustainability, financing, innovative land use or community planning or other inventive features.
- Best Project Design Recognizes a completed project which demonstrated excellence in design for architecture, interior design, engineering, planning, or other project elements.
- Best Public Place Identifies a project that provides the public with enhanced civic, open or public space access or experiences.
- Next Big Idea This award goes to an upcoming project, master planning effort, redevelopment, program, policy or ‘idea’ that will transform our industry and our community.
