ULI Austin’s annual Impact Awards are an opportunity to recognize and celebrate projects and people throughout Greater Austin that exemplify ULI’s mission: to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact in communities worldwide.
The 2025 Impact Awards took place on August 27, 2025, at Austin PBS at ACC Highland, drawing a record-breaking audience of nearly 400 attendees for an evening celebrating excellence and innovation in our community.
2025 VISION AWARD | TERRY MITCHELL
ULI Austin is pleased to announce that Terry Mitchell, President of Momark Development, has been named the recipient of its prestigious annual Vision Award. Mitchell is a longtime real estate developer and civic leader known for shaping some of Central Texas’s most notable residential and mixed-use communities, including The Austonian, Plum Creek, Chestnut Commons, and The Denizen. With over two decades of leadership in real estate, Mitchell has been instrumental in advancing thoughtful, connected, and community-oriented development throughout the region.
The ULI Austin Vision Award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution in his or her lifetime within the Austin region. Mitchell’s work blends development, legal, and policy expertise. In addition to his contribution to ULI Austin, Terry has been an active contributor to organizations including the Real Estate Council of Austin (RECA), Hill Country Conservancy, HousingWorks Austin, and Capital Metro.

Best Project Design | 816 Congress Building Repositioning
This award recognizes a completed project which demonstrates excellence in design that exemplifies or supports ULI’s mission.
816 Congress was re-imagined as a hospitality-focused icon to resonate with the local community. The entrance was transformed to create a welcoming garden and an arched portal that unifies the design as a repeated element throughout the project. A richly textured lobby invites tenants to explore the modernized common spaces.

St. Austin Catholic Church and School sparked a visionary partnership with Greystar, transforming underutilized land near UT Austin into a vibrant, St. Austin Parish Redevelopment that ensures long-term growth, financial stability, and adds much-needed affordable housing for the community and future generations.

Located in the heart of the City of Cedar Park’s mixed-use Bell District, the new Cedar Park Public Library is a civic destination designed to evoke the idea of the library as the community’s porch—a welcoming threshold that celebrates community, civic engagement, and an appreciation for reading and learning.

Most Influential Project | Eanes ISD Solar Portfolio
This award recognizes a completed project that creates a positive impact beyond its immediate borders and energizes the development of the surrounding community, resulting in a lasting effect on the built environment.
Eanes ISD partnered with Axis Solar to build the largest educational solar portfolio in Austin. At 4.75 Megawatts, it eclipses anything built by UT, ACC, or AISD. A huge step forward in sustainability, both environmental and economic, this project sets a high standard while making an enormous community impact.

Next Big Idea | Housing Accelerator Loan Fund
This award goes to an upcoming project, master planning effort, redevelopment, program, policy or ‘idea’ that will transform our industry and our community. This award recognizes innovative ideas that can positively impact the region’s quality of life.
Austin Community Foundation’s Housing Accelerator Loan Fund delivers fast, flexible, low-cost financing that increases affordable housing across Central Texas. By recycling capital, the revolving loan fund fills critical gaps for mission-driven developers, accelerating land purchases, pre-development, and construction. The result: 1,000+ homes where residents can thrive.
