In today’s real estate market, the amenities that both residential and commercial clients are seeking in a space change about as often as the iPhone. Find out what technology features clients are demanding today – ranging from access to Google Fiber or electric vehicle-ready parking spots to smart, connect homes or the coolest start-up office. A panel of tech-savvy experts will discuss which amenities are vital to keeping pace with the Austin market, and explore where and how they foresee technology changing things in the years ahead.
Moderator: Ben Waltzer [Google]
Ben Waltzer currently leads Google Fiber’s National Real Estate partnerships team bringing next generation broadband and connected home capabilities to some of the largest multifamily owners, operators and developers across the U.S. He is a 10 year Google/Alphabet veteran who joined Google through its $3 billion acquisition of DoubleClick in 2008. Ben has held various roles within Google/Alphabet helping to build sales and partnership teams across both its advertising and Google Fiber business units.
Panelist: Brad Maples [Trammell Crow Company]
Brad Maples, as Principal of Trammell Crow Company (TCC), is responsible for sourcing and executing new development and acquisition projects for the Austin Business Unit. In this role, Maples is responsible for strategic planning, deal origination, joint venture structuring, equity and debt financing, development execution, leasing activities and project dispositions for speculative and build to suit projects.
Panelist: Anup Parikh [ChargePoint]
Anup Parikh is the National Multi-Family Home Sales Manager at ChargePoint, the industry leader in networked Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, with over 55,000 installed charging ports. He is based in Austin and focuses on sales to the multifamily market for the Eastern half of the US. He has helped multifamily brands like Gables, Roscoe Properties, Greystar, Camden, Lincoln and many others maintain their competitiveness by offering EV charging as a differentiating amenity. Austin is a key market for ChargePoint and is partnered through Austin Energy’s Plug-In EVerywhere program.
Panelist: Brent Arnold [Perkins+Will]
Brent Arnold has over 8 years of experience in the architecture and design industry. In his role as Project Designer, Brent is involved in all phases of the project and develops vision and concept through construction. He has worked on a wide array of corporate interior projects, while primarily focusing on clients in the technology industry, including multiple Indeed offices, RetailMeNot and IPsoft. He maintains the design vocabulary including overall layout, color palette and finishes, and other specified user requirements, such as sustainable design features.
