To P3 Or Let Be:  Looking back at successful projects that can impact our future

The process of growing a city is a challenging and complex task.  It is the burden of local governments to build and maintain public schools, libraries, infrastructure, social amenities, governmental buildings, historic sites, etc.  Public Private Partnerships is a growing trend that helps local governments meet an expanding community’s needs by bundling finance, construction and operation into a long-term contract with a private firm.  At this breakfast we will discuss lessons learned from several local P3 projects and utilization possibilities in the future.

Panelists:

  • Jeff Nydegger, Co-Chair, P3, Infrastructure & Project Finance Industry Group, Winstead PC
  • Margaret Shaw, Economic Redevelopment Program Manger, City of Austin
  • John Rosato, Principal, Southwest Strategies Group

Moderator:  Rob Roy Parnell, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Capital Projects, Texas State University System
