Monthly Breakfast Series (June) – The Impact of Ride-Hailing and Driverless Vehicles on Real Estate
This event is now open to EVERYONE (ULI Members and non-members alike).
It is predicted that ride-hailing (e.g., Uber, Lyft) and driverless vehicles will dramatically reduce transportation costs and time, leading to a decline of vehicle ownership that could cut parking needs in half within three decades. The 75 billion square feet of parking space to be eliminated is more than the U.S. apartment, office, mall, strip center, and industrial sectors combined. The panelists at this month’s breakfast will explore the effects this transportation revolution may have on Austin and discuss the ways in which its likely to be a game-changer for real estate.
