CodeNEXT Focus Group: Review & Final Summary
Participation in the Focus Group is open to all ULI Members and does not require RSVP.
Meetings are held at Whole Foods downtown, in the mezzanine dining area (above the Express checkout area in the NW corner of the store).
For more information, contact email@example.com.
In March, following the release of the code draft, ULI members published a series of position papers. <View the Position Papers>
This Focus Group is a way for ULI members to have continued input on mapping. <View Maps> One of the most effective ways for ULI members to have a voice, is to comment on the maps. The Focus Group will meet for five consecutive weeks to prepare comments.
Each week a single topic will be discussed, exploring the major points of the code and coming up with suggestions on how to improve sections of the code draft and map to better align with the Imagine Austin plan. As a follow up to each weekly discussion, a write-up will be prepared and at the final meeting on June 5th the group will review and finalize all of the pages.
Meeting Schedule & Topics:
May 8: Environmental Preservation
May 15: Neighborhood Character
May 22: Affordability (hopefully we will have a draft of the density bonus by this date)
May 29: Compact and Connected
June 5: Review/Final Summary
We will send out code sections for reference before each week’s meeting. Please come to each meeting with some knowledge of the code sections addressing each issue and a list of at least 5 sections you want to include. This is an aggressive schedule and time is of the essence, so advance preparation will help the weekly meetings operate most efficiently.
