ULI Austin | Overview

Founded locally in 1999, ULI Austin allows the diverse real estate professions of Central Texas to exchange ideas, trends and projects to build more business, construct better places and develop a greater sense of community.

ULI Austin is the gathering place for responsible development and sustainable land use. While we do not advocate, our leaders encourage thoughtful, engaging design and construction that result in better communities. We work with other organizations and individuals on a number of land-use initiatives, including but not limited to workforce housing, high-capacity transit and roadways, the reuse of existing infrastructure, and planning healthier environments.

ULI Austin allows diverse real estate professionals from both the public and private sectors of Central Texas to exchange ideas, trends and projects with each other to construct better places and develop a greater sense of community. Our members have a common interest in better land use strategies and practices that benefit not only the development itself, but also the community as a whole.

Our 500+ Central Texas members come from both the public and private sectors. We have developers, brokers, architects, landscape architects, designers, engineers, investors, financers, transportation experts, elected officials, economic development executives, public affairs professionals and other related fields who engage in our monthly breakfasts,  participate on our many committees and serve in a variety of leadership roles.

Of the 53 ULI District Councils across the country, ULI Austin is the fastest growing council in terms of membership growth and overall activity (more than 80 percent of Austin members attended at least on event in the past year). In 2014 alone, ULI Austin hosted 12 information and networking breakfasts, organized eight receptions, facilitated nine Young Leader events, held 11 advisory board meetings, conducted three special events, managed three Technical Assistance Panels (TAPS) and expanded its staff to three new, energetic professionals to keep pace with the tremendous growth of the organization.
