ULI Austin Announces Winners for Awards of Distinction

AUSTIN, Texas – Feb. 26, 2014 – The Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Austin announced the winners for the Awards of Distinction for 2013.  The Awards recognize projects in three categories for their impact on Building Healthy Places, a major ULI national initiative.  Award categories include Public Impact, Private Development and Private Redevelopment.   Finalists were selected by a nominating committee comprised of ULI Austin members.  A separate panel of ULI member judges made the winner determinations. UT Austin team named as finalists in ULI’s Hines student urban design competition

AUSTIN, Texas – Feb. 24, 2014 – A team of five graduate students from the University of Texas at Austin (UT) have been named one of four finalist teams in the 12th annual ULI Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition. The students are competing in a hypothetical urban design project that proposes the redevelopment of Nashville’s historic Sulphur Dell neighborhood. ULI Austin Technical Assistance Panel for City of Austin’s “CodeNEXT”

ULI Austin convened representatives from the City of Austin and ULI members representing developers in Austin for a Technical Assistance Panel in October 2013.  The focus of this panel was defining and encouraging development in high density areas, development of affordable housing and the development review and approval process.  A summary of the discussion was provided to the City and posted on the CodeNEXT Community Viewpoints web page.
